Our Services

Phone Consultation

We offer a free phone consultation to discuss your concerns with your child’s speech and language development, answer your questions and determine if an evaluation and/or therapy services are warranted. To schedule your free consultation or to request more information please email erin@gradeaspeech.com or call (860) 375-4739.

Evaluation

In order to evaluate your child’s current speech and language skills, a comprehensive evaluation will be completed before beginning therapy. A comprehensive evaluation includes a parent interview, administration of standardized assessments, use of informal assessments and clinical observations. A written report of the evaluation results will be provided. All clients will receive an evaluation prior to beginning therapy. The evaluation is used to determine present levels of performance and to develop appropriate goals for therapy. If you have a speech-language evaluation that was completed in the last 6 months, that evaluation can be used to start therapy without requiring additional testing.

Individual Therapy

Speech and language therapy sessions, utilizing evidence based practices, will be provided in the comfort of your own home or in your child’s daycare. Speech therapy sessions are usually once or twice per week and typically last for 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Recommendations for session length and frequencywill be made based upon your child’s needs and family preference. Family consultations are provided during the last 5-10 minutes of each session. The consultation includes an update on your child’s progress and recommendations for strategies and activities that can be completed during the week with your child. The strategies and activities that are recommended are designed to increase progress and facilitate carryover of skills.
